Meditation Shown To Slow Progression Of HIV
hi friends be alert from HIV and secure your life from that killer. Please must read the below
Researchers at the University of California - Los Angeles (UCLA) report that the practice of mindfulness meditation can halt the decline of CD4-T cells in HIV-positive patients. CD4-T cells are the "brains" of the immune system, but they are also the cells that are attacked by HIV, which slowly eats away at the CD4-T cells and weakens the immune system. Scientists have known for some time that stress also accelerates CD4-T cell decline, making the combination of stress and HIV a potentially deadly combination.
"This study provides the first indication that mindfulness meditation stress-management training can have a direct impact on slowing HIV disease progression," said UCLA's David Creswell. "The mindfulness program is a group-based and low-cost treatment, and if this initial finding is replicated in larger samples, it's possible that such training can be used as a powerful complementary treatment for HIV disease, alongside medications."
Mindfulness meditation is the practice of bringing an open and receptive awareness of the present moment to experiences, avoiding thinking of the past or worrying about the future. It is thought to reduce stress and improve health outcomes in a variety of patient populations.
The UCLA study, reported in the journal Brain, Behavior, and Immunity, compared an eight-week mindfulness-based stress-reduction (MBSR) meditation program to a one-day MBSR control seminar, using a stressed and ethnically diverse sample of HIV-positive adults. Impressively, the participants in the eight-week group showed no loss of CD4-T cells, indicating that mindfulness meditation training can buffer declines. In contrast, the control group showed significant declines in CD4-T cells.
Intriguingly, Creswell also noted that researchers found a "dose-response" relationship between MBSR class attendance and CD4-T cells, meaning, said Creswell, "the more mindfulness meditation classes people attended, the higher the [number of] CD4-T cells at the study's conclusion."
In order to better understand the benefits of mindfulness meditation, Creswell and his colleagues are now examining the underlying pathways through which meditation reduces stress, using brain imaging, genetics and immune system measurements. "Given the stress-reduction benefits of mindfulness meditation training, these findings indicate there can be health protective effects not just in people with HIV but in folks who suffer from daily stress," Creswell said.

9 Out Of 10 Americans Obese Or Overweight By 2030
Most adults in the United States will be overweight or obese by 2030, with related health care costs hitting nearly a trillion dollars, say researchers from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality and the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.
"National survey data show that the prevalence of overweight and obese adults in the U.S. has increased steadily over the past three decades," Bloomberg's Youfa Wang writes in the journal Obesity. "If these trends continue, more than 86 percent of adults will be overweight or obese by 2030 with approximately 96 percent of non-Hispanic black women and 91 percent of Mexican-American men affected. This would result in 1 of every 6 health care dollars spent in total direct health care costs paying for overweight and obesity-related costs."
The projections are based on data collected over the past three decades from nationally representative surveys. "The health care costs attributable to obesity and overweight are expected to more than double every decade. This would account for 15 to 17 percent of total health care costs spent," Wang explained. "Due to the assumptions we made and the limitations of the available data, these figures are likely an underestimation of the true financial impact."
The researchers say that the dramatic and effective implementation of corrective programs and policies are needed to avoid the otherwise inevitable health and societal consequences implied by their projections. If current trends continue, the researchers say that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will not meet its Healthy People 2010 initiative to increase the proportion of adults who are at a healthy weight and to reduce the proportion of adults who are obese.

Laptops for $10
Hi folks..
It is again a real miracle infront of our eyes.....
--After the world cheapest car for just $2500 by TATA, It is now for Laptops
India,July 29,Bangalore announced, the plan of $10 Laptops for education...
(IDG News Service) BANGALORE -- India is developing a laptop to be sold at $10 that will target higher education applications, a minister of the federal government said today in Delhi.
Research on the new low-cost laptop is being carried out at the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore and the Indian Institute of Technology in Chennai, said D. Purandeswari, minister of State for Higher Education, at a conference in Delhi. This measure will help raise the quality of higher education in India, she added.
The minister did not give the specifications of the $10 laptop, nor is it clear if the rock-bottom price will be achieved with the help of a government subsidy.
The Indian government is planning to use information and communications technology (ICT) to strengthen its current programs for distance learning by making them accessible online, Purandeswari said.
As part of this new "National Mission in Education through ICT," the government is also working on developing a low-cost and low-power access device, according to Purandeswari. The government also plans to make available free bandwidth for education purposes to every Indian. It plans to use this bandwidth to build a "knowledge network" among the nation's institutions of higher learning.
India's Internet penetration is currently low. The country had 4.38 million broadband subscribers at the end of June for a population of more than 1.13 billion.
A number of local and multinational companies, such as Microsoft Corp. and Intel Corp., as well as nongovernmental organizations have been working on technology for education.
India did not sign up for the One Laptop Per Child program after officials in the education ministry decided that giving a computer to every child is "pedagogically suspect," and may be detrimental to the growth of the creative and analytical abilities of the child. An Indian telecommunications service provider, Reliance Communications, has, however, been doing pilots of the OLPC in India since last year.

Time to Respond silence
As every one know, what's the fact about all nations are consolidatedabout, but still, we expect,as usual government to guide us for deminishing green house gasses.
For years Government quoted a thougth "one house one tree"
But, even people who thinks of controlling pollution failed to practice it.
It seems easy speaking, but think future without Ecology balanceI started this blog in order to Raise some ideas, that would inturn ayleast enable our mother safety.
I post my ideas here, and expecting all to put your's too
New Rule : If a bussines man buys a construction say 100 sq.ft, he should grow trees for about 10 + sq.ft. If any individual who constructs house, should offer 10+% of his construction for either gardening or laying trees( and this tree must be licenced) In village, bare lands should be offered with a scheme such that,if you grow trees in 100sq.ft, and ensures its existing for 5 years with valid government approved licence for the tree, should be given free land of about one third of it.(this scheme should be given only once for a single family) If any one tries to buy a new vehicle,he should show his family strengh, and get approval from government for buying car This is to avoid a family of 2, to buy innova? Also, if a man tries to buy second vehicle,he should give 15 % of its cost to government organisation for afforestaion Every luxory Hotels and appartments, should show 30 % of its volume in growing trees, again it should be licenced. Offer's also should be given, such that if a tree is grown, and completed one year after licence,he should be given say 500 rupees for every year.....
still need to add?, dont wait for it.Also try to follow this, even before when it is implemented.
